PlanetFM - Planetaudio
Planet Audio uses e-cast’s unique off-air recording technology, the Programmable Radio System (PRS) audio capture system which itself is an adaptation of e-cast’s unique Programmable Television Recording System (PTS) developed for the e-cast education service. The Programmable Radio System’s hardware and related software all integrates directly into the PlanetFM Content Management System for direct control of their unique recording requirements by staff.

As a multicultural radio station, PlanetFM asked e-cast to design the website to give direct access to programmes in the language of the site visitors’ choice. An FTP upload system was also designed into the Language pages for programmes of importance to be archived post-broadcast or for programmes that were not broadcast on PlanetFM to be uploaded and form part of the collection. PlanetFM also wanted to offer collections of audio recordings to help new immigrants understand and adjust to their new country. This generated a section for the ARMS (Auckland Refugee and Migrant Service). A similar need to offer online access to a collection of audio programmes produced by local Libraries in the Auckland Region and of importance and interest to New Zealand's diverse ethnic communities led to the Library section of the site. http://www.planetaudio.org.nz

PlanetFM - Planetaudio
e-cast designed and developed this innovative website and supporting infrastructure for Auckland's PlanetFM radio station. This site captures weekly programmes in more than 60 different languages directly from the broadcast transmission, then within 5 minutes of completion of broadcast offers listeners from throughout NZ and around the world opportunities to listen to both live streams and on-demand recordings of each broadcast programme available.
The site went live in November 2008.
