Brian Oliver
Technology Operations
Brian is responsible for e-cast's technical planning and operations. He has designed and project managed the building of e-cast's intelligent ICT infrastructure that integrates terrestrial and satellite television reception with IT systems for ingest encoding, hosting and delivery over the Internet.
This e-cast infrastructure was initially deployed for the e-cast-education service and the e-cast shop but always designed to form the platform for multiple future services.
From 2004 to 2009 Brian was a director of Kordia, a New Zealand Government State Owned Enterprise (SOE) with broadcast and telecommunications activities in New Zealand, Australia, and Asia.
From 1995 to April 2006, Brian managed the University of Auckland's 'UniSat' satellite receiving station and was responsible for the concept, the engineering design and installation, and the day-to-day operation of the facility.
Brian has well-developed relationships internationally with companies within the television, satellite, telecommunications and Internet industries and his input is critical to e-cast operational developments.
